Hello!

I'm Allison Gutierrez, a digital artist and animator with a bachelor's degree in Art and Design from North Carolina State University. I started drawing in middle school after watching a friend of mine draw a picture across from me on a table. I watched as they drew a person, and bit by bit they created this character and in my head I can clearly remember thinking "I want to be able to do that." From then on I have dedicated my life to learning to draw and creating characters.

Interestingly, my start to animating came about very similarly. I was watching TV at roughly 4 a.m. I don't remember why but I do remember I had school that morning. I was in 10th grade at the time, and had been a little stressed about what exactly I wanted to do with my life, because while I wanted to continue drawing, I wasn't sure how to make that a career. A particular show came on at that time, it was a 3D animated cartoon, and I watched as one of the characters moved about and in my head I had this very distinct thought once again that said "That. I want to do that." From then on I knew I wanted to animate.

 

Whether it is in 2D or 3D, I find a lot of joy in bringing characters to life and find that there is not anything else I would rather do.
